1. Who is responsible
Tessera is developed by Ahmed alm eldin, publishing as Gaborandi, an independent developer based in Egypt. In this notice, “we” means this developer, who is responsible for the processing we determine for Tessera and for support messages sent to us.
Contact: a.alameldien@gmail.com. This notice covers Tessera's game services and this product website. Platform-specific descriptions below identify the current iOS behavior. Purchases in an Android version, where offered, use Google Play Billing.
Apple, Google and our website host also process information for their own services. Their responsibilities and privacy notices are described below; their policies do not replace our responsibility for the processing we determine.
2. Data we handle
Game data on your device
The app stores puzzle progress, completed levels, stars, streaks, achievements, Statistics, local Solo League results, saved games, preferences and tutorial state on your device. It also keeps a limited local gameplay-event history, including event times and local session identifiers. That event history is not sent to a developer analytics server.
There is no Tessera login, developer-operated user database or cloud save service. We do not receive your saved progress automatically. You can choose to export or share supported game information, or send it to us with a support request. Device backups and copies you export are controlled separately by you and your backup provider.
Advertising and privacy choices
The Free game uses Google AdMob for banner, interstitial and optional rewarded ads, and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for regional privacy choices. These services may process device identifiers, IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them, device/app information, ad views and interactions, performance information, crash logs and other diagnostics. Google uses these data to deliver and measure advertising, operate its services and detect fraud or abuse. Consent choices and relevant device permission state are also processed to apply your choices.
Premium removes ads. On iOS, verified Premium ownership prevents new ad requests. Buying Premium does not erase information already held by Google or stop the store from processing your purchases.
Tessera does not request access to your precise GPS location, contacts, microphone, camera or health data. Approximate location from an IP address is different from device GPS permission.
Purchases and restore
Apple handles iOS payments through StoreKit. Tessera receives product, transaction and entitlement information needed to deliver Premium or Hint Pack and reconcile purchases, cancellations, refunds and revocations. It keeps Premium status, hint balances, purchase counters and processed transaction identifiers locally to avoid duplicate delivery and support restore. We do not receive your card details or Apple Account password through the app.
Store reporting may provide sales and proceeds summaries. These reports are separate from the app's local purchase records. A support message may contain additional purchase information if you choose to send it.
Notifications and online features
Optional reminders are scheduled locally after notification permission. Tessera does not send notification data to a developer push server. The iOS launch version has no chat, online player accounts or Game Center leaderboard submissions; Solo League opponents are simulated.
Support messages and this website
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send, such as screenshots or exported progress. Our email provider processes these communications to deliver and store them. Please do not send passwords or full payment-card details.
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Hosting involves processing technical request information such as IP addresses and browser information to deliver and secure the site. Our site remembers your chosen language in your browser's local storage; you can remove it by clearing this site's browser data. We have not added advertising pixels or a third-party audience-analytics service to the website.
3. Purposes and legal grounds
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, the legal ground depends on the particular processing:
- Providing the game and purchases: processing necessary to provide the service you request, including saving progress and delivering or restoring purchases, is based on performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Optional advertising processing: where required, device storage/access and use of personal data for personalized advertising depend on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) and applicable device-storage rules). The regional consent form explains the available purposes and partners. We do not use a general legitimate-interest claim to override a refusal where consent is required.
- Support: we use information necessary to answer a request about your game or purchase to provide that service. For other enquiries, our legitimate interest is responding to the message you chose to send (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Security and dispute handling: where necessary, our legitimate interests are protecting the service, preventing duplicate or fraudulent delivery, and establishing or defending claims (Article 6(1)(f)), subject to your interests and rights.
- Legal duties: if an applicable law requires records or a response to a lawful request, the relevant processing is based on that obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
Apple, Google and GitHub explain the legal grounds for their own processing in their privacy notices. Providing optional support attachments is your choice. Refusing advertising consent or tracking permission does not remove gameplay access; declining to provide information essential to a particular support request may limit our ability to resolve it.
We do not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated processing. Ad partners may select personalized ads using the data and choices described in their notices and the consent form.
4. Consent and tracking choices
Regional advertising consent: in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and other regions where required, UMP presents the applicable choices before eligible ads are requested. On iOS, open Tessera Settings and choose Ad Privacy Choices when that option is available to review or withdraw your choices. An unavailable or failed consent check does not authorize ads.
Apple tracking permission: iOS also controls tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. When required for a Free player, Tessera requests this permission before enabling its advertising flow. You may select Ask App Not to Track, or later change the permission in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. The system may restrict or suppress this prompt, and verified Premium users do not need it for ads.
ATT permission does not replace regional consent, and agreeing to the regional form does not grant ATT permission. On iOS, Tessera requests non-personalized ads when tracking is declined or personalized-ad consent is absent, provided the consent platform allows ad requests. Non-personalized ads can still involve technical data, storage, measurement and fraud prevention; they do not mean no data is processed.
You can withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal. A refusal does not prevent you from playing. Advertising availability, including optional rewarded ads, may change. Notification permission can be changed separately in your device settings.
6. Retention and deletion
- Progress and preferences: generally remain on your device until you reset progress, remove the app's data or delete the app. Some histories are bounded and older entries are discarded as new ones are recorded.
- Local gameplay events: the current iOS app retains a rolling history of up to 500 events, trimming older events as new ones are added. Reset All Progress clears that history.
- Purchase and protected reward records: are retained locally while app data remains, so the app can honor purchases, preserve stocked hints and avoid duplicate grants. Store-held purchase records are retained by Apple under its policy and applicable obligations.
- Support correspondence: is retained for as long as needed to resolve the enquiry and necessary related follow-up, and longer only where needed for legal duties or a specific dispute or claim. The relevant criteria are whether the issue remains open, whether the record is needed for follow-up, and whether a legal retention or claims need applies. You may request deletion.
- Website language preference: remains until replaced or cleared in your browser. GitHub controls hosting-log retention under its notice.
- Advertising and provider-held information: retention varies with the data, purpose, account settings and legal or security needs. See Google's retention explanation and Apple's and GitHub's notices. We cannot delete their independent records by resetting Tessera.
What Reset All Progress does on iOS: it clears gameplay progress, preferences and the temporary League Hint Bank. It preserves purchases, stocked hints, processed transaction identifiers, daily reward records and daily play allowances. It does not erase all local data, cancel purchases, withdraw system permissions or delete information held by Apple or Google.
To remove the app's local data, use Delete App, rather than Offload App, in iOS Settings. Deleting Tessera does not cancel store purchases or remove exported files, device backups or data already held by service providers. A later installation may restore eligible store entitlements. Manage backups and exported copies separately through the service or location where you kept them.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location and the applicable conditions, you can request access to personal data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, and a portable copy of data. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing, and withdraw consent at any time. Some rights have exceptions, for example where records must be retained by law or for legal claims.
Email a.alameldien@gmail.com to exercise rights concerning data we handle or to ask for help identifying the relevant provider. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity and locate the data. We do not have remote access to your device-only save. Export Progress can provide a copy of supported gameplay records; it is not a complete export of all purchase, consent or provider-held data.
For EU and UK GDPR requests, we normally respond within one month. If a lawful extension is needed because of complexity or the number of requests, we will explain it within that first month. Requests are normally free, subject to the limited exceptions permitted by law.
You may complain to your data-protection authority, including in the EU country where you live or work or where the alleged infringement occurred. You do not need to contact us first. Find an EU authority in the EDPB directory; UK residents can contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
For records controlled independently by a provider, you can also use Apple's privacy contact or the rights tools in Google's and GitHub's notices. This does not remove your right to contact us about our own processing.
8. Children's privacy
Tessera does not ask for a date of birth or require a player account. An App Store content age rating describes the game's content; it does not establish a player's age or permission for advertising-data processing. Where consent is the legal ground for an online service offered directly to a child, the age at which a child can consent independently varies by country, including between 13 and 16 within the EU.
We do not knowingly request personal information directly from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information or that processing involving your child needs attention, contact us so we can investigate and address the request. This notice does not claim that Tessera verifies age or parental consent.
9. Changes to this notice
We update this notice when relevant practices or requirements change and show the revision date above. A policy update does not itself grant consent to new optional processing; additional notice or consent will be provided where required.
